Bernard G. Ellis passed away January 15, 2015 in Odd fellow & Rebekah Rehab & Health Care Center, Lockport.

Born in Buffalo on December 18, 1932 he was the son of Gusty and Mildred (Schmidt) Ellis. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War being awarded the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and the ND Service Medal.  Bernard worked for Harrison Radiator in maintenance for 32 years retiring in 1988.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 58 years serving on the church council, the board of education of Trinity School, UAW Retirees, and the Akron American Legion. Bernard enjoyed cars, sports especially the Bills and Yankees, working in his yard, and especially enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.

Bernard is survived by his wife Irene (McCormick) Ellis of Lockport; father of Mark (Nancy) Ellis of Lockport and Matthew (Beth) Ellis of Houston, TX; grandfather of Derek, Kirk, Elizabeth, and Lindsey; brother of the late Charles Ellis; brother-in-law of Billie Ellis of Florida; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, January 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20th at 11 AM.  Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Abiding Memorial Fund of Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton St., Lockport, NY 14094 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 unset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
