ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
OLCOTT — A 16-year-old Lockport boy was charged Monday evening with criminal possession of a weapon after Niagara County Sheriff's deputies found him with metal knuckles.
According to the NCSO arrest report, patrol observed what it felt was a suspicious vehicle parked in a vacant public parking lot over looking Lake Ontario on East Main Street. Patrol approached the vehicle and interviewed the sole occupant of the vehicle, who gave patrol consent to search the vehicle.
When the teen opened the driver side door to exit the vehicle, patrol observed a pair of metal knuckles in plain view in the driver side door panel. No further contraband was located inside the vehicle.
The teen was released on an appearance ticket for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and ordered to appear in Newfane Town Court on Tuesday. The metal knuckles were sealed in an evidence bag and secured into an NCSO property locker.
