news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Homewood Drive woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday that someone stole numerous Christmas items from her car.
The woman told patrol that around 7:30 p.m. Friday, she put a few Christmas gifts in her vehicle which was backed in the driveway in front of her garage. She said that she remembers locking her vehicle after she put the items in. However, at around 7 a.m. Saturday, while she was leaving her residence to go to work, she noticed that the inside of the vehicle had been tampered with.
The complainant told patrol that she went into her car and inventoried her belongings and found that several had been taken. Items taken included a $180 Alex and Ani bracelet, $100 Ray-Ban sunglasses, $150 Steve Madden boots, $50 Harley Davidson gloves, a $35 pillow, $30 phone charger, and $45 in assorted bottles of wine. In all, the value of the stolen items was $590.
The woman originally thought that her garage was entered also but after further inspection she doesn't believe that it had been. Patrol asked neighbors if they had seen anything suspicious, but none reported having done so.
The case was closed by NCSO pending new information.
