APPLETON — Ugly sweater contests seem to be the new holiday tradition — for people. And now Marjim Manor is making it a holiday event for wine bottles, too.
The Winery at Marjim Manor is sponsoring and Ugly Wine Bottle Sweater Contest through the end of the month.
All month long, wine purchasers have been able to receive an ugly sweater kit for free to take home, decorate and return by Nov. 28 for judging. Categories include most holiday spirit, funniest, ugliest, best match to a person's sweater, and people's choice.
For those who want to decorate on the fly, wine sweaters and items to use to decorate them will also be available at the Manor on Sunday during regular business hours, noon to 6 p.m.
Wine sweaters are also available as a standalone purchase for $5.
Judging will take place during the Lighting of the Manor on Nov. 30, with the first-prize winner in each category scoring a $25 gift certificate.
