Team plans 'Party in the Plaza' for home opener Thursday

The Sabres open the 2014-2015 season at home on Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team will host a "Party in the Plaza" for the game from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The party will take place in Alumni Plaza, located outside of the arena along Perry Street. The event will feature live music from Nik and the Nice Guys and special appearances by Sabres alumni and Sabretooth. There will also be food and beverages available for purchase.
In anticipation for the opening-night crowd, the team suggests that fans planning on attending arrive early to ensure easy entrance into the arena. A pre-game handout will also be distributed to fans as they are admitted into the game.
