TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Rapids Road woman was charged Wednesday night with DWI following a traffic stop on Transit Road.
According to her arrest report, Kristine N. Drake, 29, 6773 Rapids Road, Lot 58, smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests upon being pulled over. A check of the department of motor vehicles records determined that her driving privileges are currently suspended. A check of the motor revealed a open glass with liquid with an aroma of an alcoholic beverage. The glass was on the floor board. When asked about the glass Drake answered that it was a mixed drink from the bar she was at prior to be stopped by patrol. She admitted to drinking the alcoholic beverage while operating her motor vehicle.
She was determined to have a .10 percent blood alcohol content and was remanded to the custody of the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $750 bail. She is ordered to appear in the Town Lockport on Tuesday to answer to charges of driving while intoxicated, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, moving from lane unsafely, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding. .
