TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Cambridge Drive woman was charged Saturday afternoon stealing a scarf and two necklaces from Walmart on South Transit Road.
Walmart security says they saw a woman — later determined to be Katelynn Ann Coleman, 26, 4803 Cambridge Dr., Apt. 4 — exiting the jewelry department with a handful of costume jewelry necklaces. She then entered the ladies wear department and removed price tags off of the necklaces and concealed them into her purse and passed all points of sale at 1:40 p.m.
Coleman re-entered the store at 2:07 p.m., at which time store security was able to obtain her license plate number.
Police tracked her down at her address and charged her with petit larceny. She was issued an appearance ticket to the Town of Lockport Court on Oct. 2.
The value of the scarf and necklaces is $15.
