ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A group of eight children left the Wyndham Lawn Campus in Lockport without permission this morning on their way to breakfast, according to New Directions.
Niagara County Sheriff's deputies responded to the campus when informed of the mass exodus.
NCSO is currently handling the investigation into the youth’s activities and location, but there is currently no further information on their whereabouts.
There was no precipitating event immediately prior to residents leaving Wyndham Lawn, according to New Directions ... "and we are not aware of any problems within the community as a result," according to a company statement.
"We are concerned for the safety and well-being of these young people and hopeful that this event will be quickly resolved," the statement continued.
In most cases, residents who leave are returned to the campus. However if it appears that a child is unwilling to remain at Wyndham Lawn or whose legal status prevents that from occurring, alternative resources will be arranged, company officials said.
