SANBORN — A registered sex offender from Tioga County was arrested this morning inside an apartment on the campus of Niagara County Community College.
According to a press release from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, they had received information from NYS Parole that the 21-year-old Dustin Shrauger was there wearing a GPS monitor which was tracked to a room inside the building.
Parole further reported the subject was a dangerous sexual offender, known to run from law enforcement. Several Niagara County Sheriff's Office units, along with Lewiston Police, New York State Police and the U.S. Marshal's Violent Felony Task force responded to NCCC.
After a perimeter was set up, deputies entered the apartment complex and took the Shrauger into custody. He is a NYS Level 2 sex offender and was wanted for failing to comply with conditions of parole.
Shrauger was turned over to NYS Parole Officers on scene.
NCSO has no further information on Shrauger in regards to his history or pending charges in Tioga County.
