TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 37-year-old Newfane man was charged Saturday night with aggravated DWI for driving while intoxicated with a child less than 15 in the car.
Niagara County Sheriff's deputies responded to an injury accident call on South Transit Road around 10 p.m. The driver of the car, Keith R. Blackwell, 2354 Lockport-Olcott Road, admitted to police that he had been drinking according to the NCSO report.
Blackwell failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody on charges of DWI, aggravated DWI with a child passenger of less than 15 years old, and failure to yield the right of way on a left turn. He was transported to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, where he was found to have a BAC of .14%.
He was held in Niagara County jail on $750 bail and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
