ENP STAFF REPORTS

MIDDLEPORT — Someone doesn't want a Middleport mailman to make his appointed rounds to a Griswold Street address.
A woman reported to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday that someone had stolen her new mailbox between Sunday night and Tuesday morning. The temporary mailbox, located near the roadway, was on a metal post with a metal base. It replaced a mailbox that had been recently damaged with a car.
The woman said she checked the area for tire track but didn't find any. She believes someone possibly took it to scrap the metal. The total loss is approximately $100.
This investigation is closed pending new information.
