ENP STAFF REPORTS

PENDLETON — A 34-year-old Village resident was charged with possession of marijuana Saturday morning after being stopped for speeding on South Transit Road.
Jason M. Keenan, 6035 South Transit Road, was stopped by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies traveling 66 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to a report filed by NCSO. Patrol performed a DMV computer check which revealed the listed registration to be expired. Patrol could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and asked Keenan if there was anything in the vehicle, to which Keenan turned over a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. Patrol then located a small amount of suspected marijuana in a center cup holder and a "bowl" containing suspected marijuana residue, between the seat and center console.
Patrol charged Keenan with unlawful possession of marijuana and released him on appearance ticket for Town of Pendleton Court on Sept. 17. He was also charged with speeding and driving an unregistered vehicle. The suspected marijuana and the marijuana smoking device were submitted to the NCSO lab for evidence and analysis.
