Lockport Beautiful, a small volunteer group that promotes public art and beautification projects in the City of Lockport, is organizing a “clean mob” of the Flight of Five at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1.
A number of local businesses have already signed on to participate but individuals or other businesses interested in volunteering are encouraged to join. Anyone interested in participating is asked to bring small gardening shovels, gloves, buckets, garbage bags or other tools that might be helpful in the cleaning up the site, specifically to remove some of the overgrown vegetation between the concrete.
“We want to make sure that, as the city, our best foot is being put forward for Locktoberfest.,” said Brian Smith, Lockport Beautiful volunteer and Vice President of the Greater Lockport Development Corporation. “There are going to be a lot of people visiting Lockport for the rst time. We just want to do our part to make sure that it is a good rst impression.”
