ENP STAFF REPORTS

WRIGHTS CORNERS — An unknown man stole pizza rolls, peanuts and taco sauce from Tops — but didn't get the items home as he was chased by store personnel early this morning.
According to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the man exited tops with items concealed in his hooded sweatshirt. As he was walking out at approximately 1:45 a.m, a store employee said "are you going to pay for the items in your sweatshirt?" The man then fled to the store exit.
The store employee continued to yell, and another employee yelled for the man to stop, but the thief ignored his demand and proceeded to run south through the parking lot. The second employee gave chase, causing the suspect to remove food items from his sweatshirt and throw them onto the ground.
The suspect was last seen climbing over the fence at the south end of Rite Aid and continuing south on foot. He is described as a white male, approximately five-feet, 11-inches tall, thin build, short dark colored hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, black shoes, and a black flat brimmed hat.
It is unknown at this time if he was still in possession of any items after discarding items in the parking lot. The recovered items included a frozen bag of Tostino's Pizza Rolls, an 8oz bottle of Ortega Taco Sauce, and a jar of Planter's Honey Roasted Peanuts. The recovered items were valued at a combined total of $15.
