Center. (CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)
The annual Autumn in the Arena Antique Show & Sale takes place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kenan Center.

Each year, the Niagara Art Trail presents two antique shows at the Kenan Center Arena; one in spring and one in fall. Organizers say that this one coming up promises to be even bigger and better than ever. More new vendors have been added giving greater variety of antiques and collectibles for you to browse and shop.

Jay Krull, manager of the Niagara Art Trail, said, "These shows have grown by leaps and bounds. The Kenan Arena is a popular venue and its size has given us the space we need for this growth. The Spring Fever show in March brought us many new vendors and those vendors have spread the word that this is a great show. We have been hearing comments from antique dealers that this is one of the areas 'bigger shows.' To have gained that reputation so quickly is a good sign that we will be growing this show to eventually fill the arena's main arena as well as the annex."

Visitors from far and wide including many from Canada come to Lockport for the shows. The spring show even attracted a bus full of shoppers from Ontario. A show program distributed at the door contains advertising and special offers to help promote local businesses and events. There is also a display table at the event containing fliers and literature. Any businesses or organizations wishing to place their information on this table may contact the Niagara Art Trail to make arrangements.

General admission is $3 per person from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Early birds are admitted at 9:00 AM for $6. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

"We offer the Early Bird admission at a higher cost to give a one hour 'head start' to those who really want to get in and find that special item before the crowds come in." Krull said. "We had over 125 Early Birds at the Spring show, so we know that's a popular feature."
