TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 19-year-old Niagara Falls man was charged with burglary and possession of stolen property by New York State Police following a recent investigation.
Christopher J. Rajtar and a juvenile accomplice broke into a residence in the Town of Lockport and stole various electronics and other items, according to NYSP. A tip and an eyewitness-provided clothing description of the suspect, led Troopers to Rajtar, who confessed to the burglary and told the police where they could find the stolen property. Troopers were able to recover all the stolen property and identify the juvenile accomplice.
Troopers also recovered three stolen bicycles that were taken during unrelated incidents. The State Police are asking for anyone in the Lockport area who is missing a bicycle or who has information about recent bicycle thefts to call the Lockport barracks at 434-5589.
Rajtar was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail on $5,000 bail and was to be in court today. Charges against the juvenile are pending.
