ENP STAFF REPORTS

HARTLAND — A Seaman Road man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies Monday morning that someone had stolen four chainsaws from his property over the weekend.
The man told patrol that three of the saws were "Stihl" brand and one was "Echo" brand. He said that when the building was closed up and locked at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday, all of the chainsaws were accounted for in the building. No signs of forced entry were observed by patrol.
A set of footprints was observed heading away from the building in the stone area surrounding the building, but no distinct markings could be seen, and the tracks disappeared once they reached the grass area.
The complainant estimated the total loss to exceed $1,000. The case is considered closed pending further information.
