Paul M. Flynn pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder this afternoon at his arraignment in City Court.
Flynn, 39, 80 Genesee St., Apt. 3, faces the charge after Clyde M. Mullen died Wednesday in ECMC.
Flynn was already facing second-degree assault charges stemming from the incident which injured Mullen Saturday night. According to police reports, the two had gotten into an altercation late Saturday when Flynn grabbed Mullen by the neck and threw him down a set of porch stairs onto the concrete below.
When Mullen died in the ECMC trauma unit, law enforcement decided to upgrade the charges to second-degree murder.
Following the arraignment this afternoon, Flynn was held without bail pending a preliminary hearing, which will be held Friday.
