BATAVIA — All three games of the opening home stand for the Lockport Express were decided by just one goal. This afternoon's game, the Junior A team had to score eight to best the Wilkes Barre Miners.
The Express bested the Pennsylvania team by a score of 8-7 in the team's final Batavia "home game." The team returns to Niagara County next weekend to play at the Roc City Royals at Niagara University's Dwyer Arena on Saturday. The following day, they'll play the Royals again in Rochester.
The Express' first home game in Cornerstone Arena will be held on Oct. 4 against the Jersey Shore Wildcats.
With today's win, the Express are 2-1 on the season.
