ENP STAFF REPORTS

ROYALTON — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to Royalton Ravine Park on Saturday to investigate bones found by a hiker.
The hiker, a Niagara Falls man, met deputies on a trail off of Kayner Road to the west of the park and walked them back to an area where he found the bones, which he said appeared to be human. He had been hiking with friends when he came across them Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff's investigators secured the scene and the bones — for testing.
As it turns out, however, they were animal bones, according to Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour.
