ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
A Gasport man thought the motorbike he saw being pushed down High Street looked familiar. As it turns out, it was his son's stolen bike and cunning thinking helped recover it.
The man stopped the person pushing it down the street around 8 p.m. Thursday and acting as if he was interested in buying the bike. The male agreed and they arranged to meet at an Akron Street address a short time later. But when the man showed up, he brought backup in the form of a Niagara County Sheriff's investigator.
The male told patrol he had no idea the bike was stolen and provided the investigator with the name and location of where he purchased the stolen bike.
The man got his bike back and the case remains under investigation.
