ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — While it wasn't nearly the haul that the Niagara County Sheriff's Office had in Gasport over the weekend, police made another drug seizure on Friday on Birchwood Drive.
According to the police report, police arrived at the Woodlands' home on an anonymous tip that there was marijuana growing on the property. Upon arrival, patrol noticed a plant growing against the northeast corner of the shed that was in located in the back yard. Upon further observation the plant was verified to be a marijuana plant.
Patrol made contact with the home owner, who advised that she was unaware there was a marijuana plant in the yard. She said that her husband occasionally uses marijuana for medicinal purposes, but didn't think the plant was his.
"I thought it was a large weed growing," she told Sheriff's investigators.
No charges were filed.
