ENP STAFF REPORTS

GASPORT — A U.S. Border Patrol helicopter called Niagara County Sheriff's deputies for help with a drug offense Friday night.
According to the NCSO report, the helicopter had spotted marijuana plants in the backyard of a residence in the 2900 block of Hosmer Road and the homeowner was trying to uproot the plants. When patrol arrived at the house, a white male in his 30's was standing near the garage of the residence.
Patrol asked the male if he knew why the helicopter was circling his residence. The white male replied yes then walked patrol to two rows of pine trees about 200 feet behind his garage. Fourteen marijuana plants were found growing in between the two rows of pine trees. Two more plants were found along the south hedgerow along the homeowner's property in close proximity to the other plants.
NCSO personnel photographed the growing plants and then uprooted the plants. The incident was turned over to the Drug Task Force for further investigation.
