ENP STAFF REPORTS

NEWFANE — When Niagara County Sheriff's deputies responded to a Charlotteville Road home on Sunday, they found two dogs without food and water — and apparently uncared for in the last week.
According to a report by NCSO, the dogs' owner has been hospitalized and she left her daughter to care for the dogs. However, the daughter is believed to be in Canada for an undetermined amount of time and was not reachable.
The daughter's ex-husband let deputies in to the home, where they found the two dogs on location with no food and water. The dog that belonged to the hospitalized woman was secured by a family friend. However, the dog that belongs to the daughter, a seven-year-old Pomeranian, was not able to be taken by anyone. The Town of Newfane Dog Warden responded to the scene and secured the Pomeranian.
