ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Lockport man was charged with petit larceny after police say he tried to steal a 30 pack of Budweiser from Tops.
According to a Niagara County Sheriff's Office report, Austin P. Hager, 20, 225 East Ave., Apt. 2, took a 30 pack of beer, valued at $22.99, and walked out of the store around 5:40 p.m. Thursday.
Hager told police that since he was underage and couldn't buy the beer, he "decided to just take the beer."
He was transported to the Niagara County Jail on $500 bail and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
Patrol considers this case open as more charges may be pending, as a second man was reported to have been involved.
