ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
GASPORT — A Telegraph Road man reported to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone had stolen a shotgun from his property.
The man told patrol that between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday, an unknown person entered the empty building being constructed on his property, entered an unsecured storage tent, and stole the .16 gauge Winchester shotgun and soft case it was in.
The building does not have all the doors and windows on it, so the unknown person was able to just enter it without force, he said, adding that he had set up an unsecured green storage tent in a wooded area on his property, and that was entered because items were out of place, and his 16 gauge single shot Winchester shotgun and green soft gun case were stolen from the tent.
The man also told patrol that the tarp on his tractor was taken off, and the red Schwinn S600 motorized scooter was moved as well.
A friend had told him that she witnessed two unknown juveniles on his property around 8:20 p.m. Monday. Patrol attempted to make contact with the friend with negative results, and left a phone message for her.
