Bruce P. Brim passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
Bruce was born in Lockport on June 12, 1943 the son of the late W. Alfred and Mildred Brim. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo. Bruce is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years Judy (Rey) Brim of Lockport, a son Andrew (Julie) Brim of Dublin, OH, and daughter Amy Tobias of Carmel, IN. He was the proud grandfather of five, Ian, Jack, and Andrew Brim, Ella and Sam Tobias. Bruse is also survived by a brother Douglas (Phyllis) Brim of MI and sister Wenda (Lowell) Behm of Lockport.
Bruce was an office in the Red Berets and served as a radio operator in Vietnam. His friends referred to him as “Ranger”. As a young boy Bruce participated in several sports and continued his enjoyment as an avid sport spectator in his later years. Fishing and golf brought him much enjoyment both in Lockport with his Monday golf foursome group and winters in Florida fishing in the ocean. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, August 22nd from 3-6 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, August 23rd at 11 AM in the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the church or to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
