ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
An unidentified male was brought in for questioning following an early-morning incident on Genesee Street.
The Lockport Police Department and Niagara County Sheriff's Office had blocked the street off between Washburn and Locust streets for a little over an hour beginning around 3:30 a.m.
As many as a dozen cars from the two agencies were on scene with several officers stationed in front of a home on Genesee Street, where they appeared to be interviewing a resident on the front porch of a home on the north side of the street, near Washburn Street.
At approximately 4:15 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office tactical unit rolled up to the house from the west end of Genesee Street, around which time, a male was brought out and secured.
A neighbor said that she had heard there was a gun involved but police have not provided any details aside to confirm that someone was brought in for questioning.
LPD said a statement would likely be available in the morning.
