ROYALTON — A Telegraph Road woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that she had received an email from an insurance company with an insurance quote on a car she allegedly asked about — but she had never requested.

The woman told patrol that she doesn't own the vehicle the quote was requested for and isn't planning on buying that type of vehicle. She said that the email had her name in the quote but had her date of birth listed wrong.

She stated that she was going to attempt to call the insurance company and advise them that she was not the person who requested the quote.

Patrol advised the woman to keep an eye on her credit report and be observant for any fraudulent accounts that may have been opened in her name.
