Mercy Flight receives the male patient at the South Lockport Fire Hall this morning.

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An unidentified man was taken via Mercy Flight to ECMC this morning following a rollover accident on South Transit Road.

The accident, just before 9 a.m., occurred in front of the main entrance to the Woodlands trailer park. The vehicle went off the east side of the road just north of the NOCO gas station, through the culvert next to the road, and rolled over before coming to a stop.

South Lockport Fire Co. extracted the male driver from the vehicle, who was the then transported to the South Lockport Fire Hall, where the Mercy Flight landing pad was prepared by Rapids Vol. Fire Company. Also assisting were Niagara County Sheriff's deputies, New York State Police, Rural Metro and Niagara County EMS Coordinator Chad Shepherd.

The cause of the accident and condition of the accident victim are currently unknown.
