Lockside Art Center is celebrating its grand opening from 2-4 p.m. Sunday with artwork to be displayed through August 17.
The center's grand opening will feature artwork by Center members, included drawings, paintings, photography, sculpture, leather work, and fiber art.
Lockside Art Center's new location overlooks the Erie Canal at the Flight of Five, part of the Lockport Locks Heritage District. Housed in Suite 208 of Lockview Plaza, 21-41 Main St., it sits just a few steps away from restaurants, a bakery, antique shops, and tourist attractions.
The open house will allow attendees to check out their gallery, studios, classroom, and art research center; learn about their art classes in painting (oil, acrylic, pastel), drawing, photography, stereography, self-publishing, making your own soap using common products, Paleolithic art, and more.
Following the opening, the center will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and by appointment.
For more information, call 478-0239, or email locksideart@cs.com.
