An employee of a Town of Lockport convenience store was charged Sunday with selling alcohol to a minor as part of a county-wide alcohol enforcement detail.
According to the New York State Police, multiple agencies including NYSP, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, and the New York State Liquor Authority did a joint underage alcohol enforcement detail throughout Niagara County between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, during which 15 of 17 convenience stores denied the underage operatives alcohol and two allowed the operatives to purchase alcohol.
Arrested during this detail were Clyde D. Busch, 50, of Medina, an employee of Stop-N-Gas on Lake Avenue in the Town of Lockport; and Miranda L. Newman, 17, of Wilson, an employee of the Gulf Station on Center Street in Lewiston.
Busch is due in Town of Lockport Court on Thursday and Newman is due in Town of Lewiston Court on July 22. Both were charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sales, which are both misdemeanors.
