TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 20-year-old High Street man was charged Saturday with petit larceny after Walmart employees say he stole eight Xbox games.
According to the report filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, a man, later identified as Stephen N. Runfola, 337 High St., Apartment 3, took the eight games from a bin and put them in a backpack, then walked out of the store through the garden section around 7:15 p.m.
Patrol checked Game Stop, 5716 S Transit Road, where the manager said a customer came in and traded in six Xbox games shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The manager told patrol that the customer had eight, but only traded six for cash.
The Game Stop transaction was captured on video and the customer was identified as Runfola. The video shown of the male was a match with the Walmart suspect.
Runfola was located at his home and taken into custody without incident. He was remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash / $5,000 bond. He is to return to the court on Aug. 7.
