BARKER — Not yet open to the public, Barker Brewing has joined the major league of state brewers, they announced today.
The East Avenue brewery has been granted membership in the New York State Brewers Assocation.
"Joining The New York State Brewers Association will give Barker Brewing the ability to network with professional brewers from all over the state," according to Jeremy Petrus, spokesman for the brewery. "It will also give us statewide exposure. Lastly it allows us to attend numerous festivals all around the state so people can taste and enjoy our beer."
Based in Rochester, the New York State Brewers Association has 104 members. Notable members include Brooklyn Brewing, Community Beer Works, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, and Saranac.
Barker Brewing expects to open to the public sometime in September or October.
