TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An elderly woman refused treatment after striking a tree with her car on South Transit Road early this afternoon.

South Lockport Fire Co., under the direction of Chief Tim Glaser, responded to the front of the VALU parking lot around 1:09 p.m. for the report of a car that hit a tree. Glaser had his engines shut down part of the southbound traffic to protect emergency personnel as firefighters and the New York State Police worked the scene.

New York State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
