GASPORT — An emergency situation has been cleared by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

NCSO had asked Gasport residents to remain indoors while they searched for an armed gunman, but the man was detained around 5:53 p.m.

A release from the Sheriff's Office reads:

The emergency situation in Gasport has been cleared and there is no longer any safety concern. The individual has been detained by law enforcement.
