ENP STAFF REPORTS

Skateland Family Fun Center announced today that Sunday will be its last day of business.
The skating rink, arcade and mini-golf place will be open regular hours through then, according to its Facebook page.
"We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve this amazing community for nearly 29 years," the Facebook post said. "The families we have met and the memories made, will stay in our hearts forever."
The entertainment complex fell short of the necessary $57,000 it needed to raise to satisfy its outstanding City of Lockport property tax bill. The company had raised about $20,000 of that goal as of May 1 through a variety of fundraisers put on by members of the greater-Lockport community. The rest of the funds needed to pay the back taxes will be raised via an auction run by either Skateland or the City of Lockport.
Skateland officials had previously said that a company had approached them about purchasing the property and using the rink for roller hockey.
"We thank you for all of your support and wish you all the best in the future," Skateland said.
