NEWFANE — A 25-year-old Newfane man was charged early this morning with harassment after another Newfane man complained he left him a threatening voice mail.

According to the report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Phillip M. Clemons, 2723 Transit Road, claimed via phone that he was going to cause injury to another man. Patrol listened to the voice mail and decided to charge Clemons with second-degree aggravated harassment.

Clemons was arraigned in Town of Newfane Court and told to keep away from the complainant, who was issued an order of protection. Clemons was released on his own recognizance and ordered to return to Town of Newfane Court on Tuesday.
