ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A second complaint in three days of damaged golf carts at Oak Run Golf Course was filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office this morning.
Patrol responded around 8 a.m. to a call from the golf coarse, indicated that the ignitions to two golf carts had been damaged overnight, rendering them inoperable.
According to the report filed, "the suspects placed an unknown item/ tool into the key ignition in order to turn the golf carts on and take them for a joy ride. The suspects returned the golf carts to the parking lot of the business and took the tool out of the key mechanism, which turned the golf cart off. When the tool was removed from the ignition the switch was left turned over to the 'start' mode. The key which is used to operate the golf carts is now unable to fit into the ignition."
The estimated cost to get the golf carts repaired is about $100 each. There may be additional damage to the under carriage from the suspects operating the carts.
Patrol will have periodic checks made during the midnight shift for both Oak Run Golf Course and Willowbrook Golf Course, as an earlier report of damage to golf carts at Oak Run was made, as well as a complaint from Willowbrook Golf Course, across Lake Avenue from Oak Run.
"Throughout the course of my investigation, I have obtained four suspects names from a witness," according to the report filed by Deputy Patrick Tighe. "The investigation is pending interviews with the suspects and felony criminal mischief charges will be filed regarding all three cases open."
