Three Niagara Wine Trail wineries were recently awarded at three different wine competitions.

Schulze Vineyards & Winery brought home the prestigious Double Gold award for its 2012 Block Three Ice Wine, as well as Silver Awards for 2012 Vidal Blanc Ice wine, 2012 Siegfried, Thirty Mile Point, 2012 Vidal Blanc and Ruby offerings from the Tasters Guild Competition. Approximately 2,000 wines are annually entered in the competition from over 15 countries and 30 states/provinces.

Arrowhead Spring Vineyards was honored with a Gold for their 2011 Syrah, Silver Award for their 2010 Meritage and Bronze Award for their 2012 Pinot Noir at the 33rd Annual Riverside International Wine Competition. Schulze Vineyards and Winery was also awarded Silver Awards for both their 2012 Block Three Ice Wine and 2012 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine. The 33rd Annual Riverside International Wine Competition provides consumers and the wine industry with carefully considered results of a blind tasting by professional wine evaluators.

The Winery at Marjim Manor’s 50 Windows wine, made with the native Niagara grape, was awarded a Best of Class and Gold medal at the competition at the Pacific Rim Wine Competition, which has been setting standards for judging of fine wines since 1985. Over a two-day period wine professional judges evaluated about two thousand wines.

"The prestigious awards are a testament to the growing acclaim for wines produced on the American side of the Niagara region," according to a press release from the wine trail.
