A 16-year-old Niagara Falls male was charged with trespassing and other crimes following an incident this morning at Lockport High School.

According to a report from the Lockport Police Department, Lannique Johnson, 725 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, was found in the Lockport High School cafeteria around 10:45 a.m. by a teacher. He was escorted to Principal Frank Movalli's office, where he waited until School Resource Officer Scot Snaith arrived.

Upon seeing Officer Snaith, the teen fled out the back door of the principal's office, down the hallway, out a west door and into the Lincoln Avenue parking lot of the high school, ignoring several commands from Officer Snaith to stop. Johnson then ran west on Lincoln Avenue to Pine Street.

Snaith got in his patrol vehicle and gave chase, the report said, spotting the fleeing teen running through back yards on Pine Street. Snaith called for backup and continued to chase, commanding the teen to stop, according to reports. Detective Warren Hale apprehended Johnson near Pine and Willow and placed him into custody.

Johnson was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, obstruction of government administration and resisting arrest. He was to be arraigned in Lockport City Court by Judge William Watson.
