A traffic road check on Route 31 in the Town of Albion, led to a Honduran resident being detained for illegal entry in the Unites States.
According to the New York State Police, patrol "observed a vehicle with out of state plates pull into a residential driveway. The operator exited, walked around the vehicle then get back into the driver’s position. ... Shortly thereafter the homeowner called 911 to report the suspicious vehicle in his driveway."
The Trooper immediately responded and began to question the operator of the suspicious vehicle, who stated that he did not have a driver’s license or other valid identification. He was transported to the Albion State Police barracks.
With the assistance of the United State Border Patrol, the man was determined by police to by Cesar A. Diaz, 27, a Honduran in the U.S. illegally and living in Barker. The Trooper turned over Diaz to US Border Patrol who arrested Diaz and is being held as an illegal entrant.
