The Niagara County Sheriff's Office has just released information stating that a suspicious traffic stop on Ewings Road in Newfane on April 6 was legitimate.

Sheriff Jim Voutour had told East Niagara Post in an exclusive interview published April 7, that he would look into the situation further.

According to a press release, "Following an investigation into the incident, it was determined that the driver was a federal agent working in his official capacity and that the stop was justified."

  1. Something smells a bit funny on this one. I ain't bitin' myself.

And, if it IS true...it still ain't right, and we are crazy if we put up w/this.

Unless this woman just robbed a bank or kidnapped someone, there is not a reason to pull her over on a dark road...especially in an unmarked vehicle...a pickup truck no less...by a man in street clothes.

Nope...we need a better explanation that this...

  2. This is the worst explanation I've ever heard!!!

An unmarked vehicle (a pickup truck no less), no identification, late at night, and the best we can get is, "Following an investigation into the incident, it was determined that the driver was a federal agent working in his official capacity and that the stop was justified." Are you kidding me? Doesn't the federal government coordinate their investigations with local authorities any more? Why would there even need to be an investigation if something wasn't a bit fishy?

I've instructed my family NOT to pull over if this happened to them. Instead, call 911 or drive directly to a police station. Preferably not the Sheriff though!
