A speeding stop on Fernwood Drive in the Town of Lockport led to charges of drug possession and driving while ability impaired by drugs.
A report by the New York State Police says that Hope M. Manna, 18, of Lockport, was traveling at a non-reasonable speed and that her vehicle had a cracked windshield and expired inspection sticker.
While speaking with her, patrol noted evidence of marijuana use within the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in marijuana and hydrocodone pills taken as evidence. Manna was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, vehicle and traffic violations.
A passenger in the vehicle Cedrick J. Luke, 18, also of Lockport was checked and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both Manna and Luke were issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Lockport Court on a later date.
