A Johnson Creek Road man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday that someone had tried to break into his camper over the winter.
The man told patrol that the attempt must have been made between October and Saturday, when he noticed pry marks on the door of the camper. There were approximately four pry marks on the camper door, but the suspect or suspects were not able to gain entry because the dead bolt was engaged.
The complainant was unsure who would have been responsible for the damage, but said he was aware of several other campers that were broken into over the winter.
The investigation was closed pending new information.
