A routine strip search Monday at the Niagara County Jail revealed a Niagara Falls man had hidden a bag containing marijuana in his rectum, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

William Edward Lightfoot Jr., 35, 3292 9th St., Niagara Falls, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and introducing contraband into the Niagara County Jail. He was taken into custody at 8:30 p.m. and transported to Town of Lockport Court where he was arraigned by Judge Tilney.

Bail was set at $500. Lightfoot is due to return to the Town of Lockport Court on April 3. The marijuana was turned over to the NCSO lab for testing.
