Niagara County Sheriff's deputies charged a 55-year-old Bradley Road woman with DWI Sunday afternoon.

According to the report by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Shirley Grimaldi, 8898 Bradley Road, Gasport, was traveling 49 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone on Lockport Olcott Road around 4 p.m.

Patrol initiated a traffic stop on said vehicle in front of 2737 South Main Street and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Grimaldi's breath. She admitted to consuming two or three whiskey and waters while at the Polar Bear Swim.

She failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, where her blood alcohol content was determined to be .13%. She was taken to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250. She was to appear Tuesday in the Town of Newfane Court to be arraigned on the charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving without a license.
