The Buffalo Sabres dropped their final game in western Canada against the Vancouver Canucks 4-2.
The Sabres started the game with the first goal, a Tyler Ennis wrist shot just 1:11 into the first period. Two minutes and 18 seconds later, they had a 2-0 lead with a Jamie McBain goal at 3:29. It went downhill from there.
The Canucks first goal came 10:12 into the first period with a Brad Richardson wrist shot. At 12:48 of the first, the Canucks tied it with a Shawn Matthias slapshot. Yannick Weber put the Canucks up 1:40 into the second period and David Booth tallied the final goal at 2:23 of the third.
Sabres' goaltender Nathan Lieuwan stopped 32 of 36 shots for his second loss in two starts as a Sabre.
The Sabres fall to 20-43-8 on the season with the loss. Their next game is Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens in Montreal.
