CONTRIBUTED - Honey, gouache on paper, is one of Amy Greenan's
current works. The Greenan exhibit at the Kenan Center kicks off today
with an artist reception at 2 p.m.
An artist reception will be held this afternoon at the Kenan Center to kick off their latest exhibition, a solo exhibition by Niagara Falls artist Amy Greenan.

The reception, which will be held from 2-5 p.m., is free and open to the public. The show will be on exhibit through March 30. More than 40 works will be presented including a series of Greenan’s paintings featuring abandoned houses in acrylic on canvas, numerous collages, and other new works utilizing gouache.

Greenan was born and raised in Western New York, and studied at SUNY Purchase and the University at Buffalo. Her first post-graduate solo show took place at Niagara University’s Castellani Art Museum in 2009 as part of the TopSpin series, introducing emerging artists; the show brought her to the attention of serious collectors and institutions.

Her artwork has since been shown internationally, and has been accessioned into the permanent collections of the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo,  the Gibson Gallery at SUNY Potsdam, and the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, KS.

“The Kenan Center is especially excited to present Amy Greenan’s artwork,” said Susan Przybyl, executive director of the Center. “Amy is a rising talent. The Kenan Center Gallery is a perfect venue in which to showcase her diverse artistic strengths.”

A Tea & Tour will be offered on March 9 from 1-3 p.m. Guests will enjoy light luncheon fare, dessert, and a variety of teas followed by a tour of the exhibit with the artist. The Tea & Tour, with limited seating, is $20 per person; reservations are required.

The Kenan Center House Gallery is located in the Kenan House, 433 Locust Str. Situated on 25 beautiful acres in Lockport, the Kenan Center is a regional community center for arts, education and recreation. For more information, call 433-2617 or go to www.kenancenter.org.
