A Gasport man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies Friday afternoon that someone had used his identity without his knowledge for tax purposes.
According to the report, the Ridge Road resident had received a 1099 tax form from a business that he never did business with. The paper from the Woodland Hills, Calif. business showed that the complainant had received $3995.02 in November relating to a business which was reported to be at his home address but is not his, nor does he know anything about such business at his residence.
The paper also provides the complainant's social security number. The complainant stated that he contacted a credit company to watch his personal credit after this incident.
